What is The Wedding Crush?
The Wedding Crush is Australia’s first mass wedding to be held on Wednesday 8th August 2018 on Mooloolaba Beach. All proceeds will go to My Wedding Wish Ltd, a national charity that donates weddings to couples where one or both parties has a terminal diagnosis, with a prognosis of less than 5 years. What is included in the Crush package?
The package includes a registered celebrant to ensure you are legally married (where applicable)
A professional photography package with 30 hi res images
Professional hair and make-up for the bride
A choice of bouquets and button holes
Can I bring any guests?
Yes, you can bring up to 8 guests.
Can my children be involved?
The wedding on the beach and the reception are adult only, child free zones this is due to liquor licencing laws.
Can I pay the amount off?
Yes, we have a few facilities available to pay off the amount.
Can I pay up front?
Yes, you can pay the full amount now, or a 50% booking fee now and the balance one month prior to the wedding. All of the details will be in your registration pack.
Is the booking fee refundable?
If the event does not proceed for any reason, all monies paid will be refunded, otherwise the booking fee is non-refundable.
What paperwork will I need?
You’ll be given the details to our software package where we’ll get you to enter your details – this will generate all the paperwork for Births Deaths and Marriages. When this is done, we’ll then send you a pdf of your Notice of Intended Marriage which you will need to sign in front of a Justice of the Peace, Solicitor, Notary Public etc. (we’ll provide a list of acceptable witnesses), and once signed and witnessed, the original must be scanned back to us and then posted to us to be received by 7th July, 2018.
You will need to scan through to us your identification and bring the originals on the day: these are your original birth certificates (in English) or passports, and another form of ID such as a driver’s licences. If previously married, you will need to provide proof of divorce or death of the previous marriage.
What will happen the morning of the wedding?
We’ll provide you with the timings of where you will need to be for each step. Anticipate a time line as follows:
8.00am Hair and makeup
9.00am Collect bouquet
9.30am Celebrant for paperwork
1.00pm Join other couples for champagne and finger food
1.30pm Make way to the beach
2.00pm Ceremony starts
2.30pm Ceremony concludes
3.00pm Couples photography begins
What is the weather like in August in Mooloolaba?
August is the last month of winter in Australia with historical temperatures from 9-21 degrees. It is strongly advised that jackets be brought especially for the evening reception.
What if it rains or there is inclement weather?
Wet weather options have been put into place and in circumstances where the wedding must move, the wedding will be held indoors
Can I pick my own suppliers?
We have selected the very best suppliers from south east Queensland, and you will be allocated your own team.
Do I have to wear formal wedding attire?
We’d like to keep the event formal and elegant – but in saying that we want you to be comfortable and have some fun, so we’d like your personalities to shine.

Is there a reception?
Yes, we’re planning an amazing mass reception where you can party with your 8 guests, the other couples and their guests. This is a separate cost per head. For a small peek into what we’re planning, picture lush, beautifully decorated long tables spanning Ocean Street Cotton Tree, fireworks, MCs, a band, beautiful Australian cuisine with an international flair, individual wedding cakes, a mass first bridal waltz and amazing company.
Will there be dietary options?
Yes, we’ll be asking what dietary options everyone requires and will be catering to them.
What happens after the reception?
We’ve arranged an afterparty for you, or you can choose to go your own way. More details coming soon.
